The transition from winter to spring brings thoughts of getting the pool ready for the season. Before diving in, though, a little spring maintenance is essential to keep your pool clean, safe, and swim-ready.
Adjust the Water Level
Over the winter months, it’s common for the water level to drop. Don’t panic—this doesn’t necessarily mean a leak. Use your garden hose to bring the water back up to the right level. Adding a little extra can be smart, since some water will be lost to evaporation and cleaning.
Balance the pH
As temperatures rise, algae and bacteria can multiply quickly. To keep the water crystal clear, the pH should stay between 7.2 and 7.8. If testing and balancing your pool feels overwhelming, our maintenance specialists can handle it for you. Ask us about our ongoing service plans if you’d like stress-free upkeep all season long.
Stock Up on Pool Care Supplies
If you plan to handle routine care yourself, make sure you have the basics on hand:

Remove Leaves and Debris
Even with a winter cover, wind can carry small sticks, leaves, and dirt into your pool. Start by skimming the surface and bottom with a net, then use your vacuum for a deeper clean. Regular debris removal, about once a week, helps prevent buildup. If your yard has several trees, you may need to do this more often.
